Doctoral Journey

Academics

The reality of artificial intelligence passing the Turing Test in 2023 has compelled me to make a change to my research intentions. Officially, my dissertation research will be about how teachers in K-12 classrooms are using AI. This is an exciting new field of research, and teachers in schools around the globe need the research to guide policy and decision making moving forward. My purpose is to consider how teachers can employ artificial intelligence to assist in the processes of planning, instructing, assessing, communicating, creating and working through instructional design processes.

Welcome to this space where I will be blogging, vlogging, posting on social media, writing and exploring the topic with maximum transparency and sharing to allow teachers an opportunity to engage in the conversations on social media as well all navigate a path with artificial intelligence.

Learning Sciences

Learning Science is marked by collaborations among instructional technologists, educational psychologists, content area educators, anthropologists, computer scientists, linguists, philosophers, and many more. Learning Science is, then, an interdisciplinary approach to the study and facilitation of learning in authentic settings.”
