Teaser or Trailer for a New Game
The difference between a teaser and a trailer is subtle. A teaser is short; it reveals less of the play or no play at all. It often it uses material that will not show up in the final game. The teaser just lets the audience know that the game designers have something exciting that is coming soon. The first five to ten seconds should have the most impact on the audience viewing the teaser.
Criteria:
- 30 seconds to 1 minute
- grabs viewer’s attention quickly
- includes game’s name and game rating at the beginning
- includes audio
- includes expected release date (text on screen)
- many cuts, creates audience intrigue by moving quickly
Exemplar:
At the end of the trailer, watch for “I Love Bees” – a brilliant subgame!
