Updating our Resources

We are constantly engaged in the process of updating our resources

As Alberta Education (I refuse to add the “and Childcare” to the moniker) changes the curriclula that we teach in Alberta, we are updating our resources to reflect this. I am also a full-time educator in the province of Alberta, and my current teaching assignment (high school flexible learning / career high / storefront) impacts the triage of which resources we update first.

This year is a pilot year for social studies 7, 8, 9, and based on how the elementary curriculum rolled out, there could be many changes. For this reason, (among others, including the cyclical nature of the KUSP architecture) we have held off numbering

pages, questions etc. This should allow teachers to cut, paste (if you use an extension called KAMI, it can detect the text in the .pdf files) and easily move content around. Although the KUSP framework is not linear (making numbering a questionable choice), the feedback regarding numbers suggests that teachers want this to occur, so for that reason, when the curriculum is finalized, we will apply numbers.

We are also still translating. All of Grade 9 Social Studies has now been translated for French Immersion and will be made available on TPT and Shopify today. Grade 7 and 8 both have Time & Place and Citizenship available in French Immersion and we are in progress witih translating the third booklets which will be released sometime this month.
